Development of an innovative cycling destination model in the Slovenian-Hungarian border region
For local tourism stakeholders and rural communities in the Slovenian–Hungarian border region,
who need a coordinated, sustainable, and inclusive model for managing and promoting cycling tourism,
we develop the Innovative Cycling Destination Model (ICDM) – a cross-border framework that brings together service providers, local offices, and cultural actors to create thematic cycling routes rooted in shared heritage and spirituality.
With our help, they can enhance local tourism offers, attract new visitor segments (including people with special needs), and benefit from joint branding, quality standards, and capacity building.
Our solution is better than isolated or ad hoc tourism initiatives,
because it integrates best practices from previous successful projects (IronCurtainCycling, Amazing AoE), ensures long-term cooperation across the border, and introduces a European accessibility certification for inclusive, green, and culturally rich tourism development.
