As part of the PollenAct project, a new demonstration site has been successfully established in Lendavski Somlak, designed to provide an interactive presentation of the role of wild pollinators and the importance of biodiversity. The project, implemented in the Slovenian\u2013Hungarian border region, responds to the decline in wild pollinator populations and promotes the protection of natural habitats while strengthening environmental awareness.<\/p>\n

The establishment of the demonstration site began on November 14, 2025, and was successfully completed on November 30, 2025. During this period, a nature-friendly community space was created, enabling local residents, school groups, and tourists to gain first-hand insight into practical examples of sustainable green space management and the ecological importance of pollinators. Native nectar-rich tree and shrub species, as well as fruit trees, were planted on the site to provide pollinators with food throughout the year. Informational boards placed next to the plants help visitors identify species more easily and better understand their role within the ecosystem. The area is complemented by well-designed outdoor infrastructure, including pergolas with paved flooring, three-seat benches, interactive information boards, rubberized artificial grass surfaces, and waste bins. The comprehensive layout ensures a pleasant, functional, and educational environment for various target groups. Project partners are jointly committed to fostering the sustainable development of the cross-border region and ensuring the long-term preservation of wild pollinator populations. The demonstration site is located at 8960 Lenti, Szombathelyi \u00fat 70, on municipal land parcel number 3583, with the support of the Municipality of Lenti. In the future, the site will serve an important educational, awareness-raising, and community role, contributing to a better understanding of why wild pollinators are indispensable for healthy ecosystems and a sustainable future.<\/p>\n
