As part of the HOUSES to go project, the second stage of the practical workshop series entitled “Communication and marketing in the practice of country houses” was successfully completed on February 24, 2026. The workshop was hosted by the B\u00e9keh\u00e1z in Vasv\u00e1r, where Hungarian and Slovenian experts were able to deepen their knowledge together. The organizers provided Hungarian-Slovenian interpretation throughout the program, facilitating active professional dialogue and the exchange of experiences.
\nThe workshop began with a welcome speech, during which the project management presented the objectives of the day and the professional focus points. This was followed by presentations by the mentors of the partner organizations, who introduced the country houses they mentor, providing a comprehensive overview of their operation, results, and development opportunities. The presentations, enriched with visual elements and practical examples, contributed to broadening the professional horizons of the participants.
\nThe highlight of the morning program was a presentation entitled “The role of communication in the operation of country houses.” Participants gained insight into how conscious communication can become a key factor in the sustainable operation of country houses. The presentation covered the application of the 7P marketing model adapted to country houses, the importance of precisely defining target groups, and the effective use of various communication channels. Special attention was paid to the role of social media in reaching and attracting visitors. The theoretical block was concluded with a practical exercise: participants were able to develop their own target group profiles using a Buyer Persona template in Hungarian and Slovenian. Joint analysis and case studies provided an opportunity for immediate application of the methodology and sharing of experiences.
\nAfter the lunch break, the afternoon program focused on the practical use of the Facebook platform. Participants learned about the basic concepts, different types of posts, and the steps involved in developing a conscious content strategy. The professional block covered the timing of posts, the role of Facebook events and groups, and the principles of effective copywriting. The program dealt specifically with handling negative comments, recognizing fraudulent messages on social media, and the relationship between organic content and paid advertising. The basic rules of prize games and data protection issues were also discussed. During interactive exercises, participants practiced writing more attention-grabbing texts and developed response strategies for specific comment situations.
\nThe workshop ended with an optional cultural program: participants were able to visit the Vasv\u00e1ri Museum and the Dominican Order History Collection exhibition. The one-hour guided tour provided further professional and cultural experience for both Hungarian and Slovenian participants.
\nBased on the feedback, participants rated the workshop as practical and well-structured. The event contributed to the development of the communication and marketing skills of the local history museums, strengthened cross-border professional cooperation, and supported the achievement of the objectives of the HOUSES to go project.<\/p>\n
