The exhibition \u201cLight at the Border \u2013 In the Footsteps of Martyrs: J\u00e1nos Brenner and Danijel Halas\u201d<\/strong> is being presented for the fourth time, now in K\u00f6rmend. The opening ceremony took place on 17 April 2026, offering visitors not only an introduction to the exhibition but also the opportunity to attend a thought-provoking panel discussion.<\/p>\n

At the opening, historian Dr. Viktor Attila So\u00f3s and Bence S\u00e1rossy, director of MURABA EGTC, discussed the background and significance of the exhibition. During the conversation, they introduced the five thematic units around which the exhibition is structured, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the historical context and personal stories presented. They also gladly answered questions from the audience, creating a meaningful dialogue between past and present.<\/p>\n

The exhibition offers a moving and thought-provoking insight into the lives and tragic deaths of two young priests. At its core are human stories shaped by the turbulent historical context of the 20th century, ultimately ending in violence.<\/p>\n

The exhibition aims to bring history closer to visitors through personal narratives. Documents, photographs and testimonies reveal the life journeys of J\u00e1nos Brenner and Danijel Halas, highlighting their dedication to their vocation, their role within their communities, and the broader social and political environment that led to their tragic fate.<\/p>\n

Special attention is given to the border region, which significantly influenced both life stories. The exhibition not only recalls historical facts but also invites reflection on faith, courage and human dignity, as well as on the consequences of violence and intolerance.<\/p>\n

It also serves as a tribute to the martyrs, whose lives stand as examples of moral integrity and commitment to values. Their message remains relevant today: understanding the past can help us shape a more responsible and conscious future.<\/p>\n
