On Friday, May 15, from 5:30 PM, everyone is warmly invited to the Owls and Humans Sustainability Centre of the Barn Owl Foundation in Orosztony, Hungary (address: 8744 Orosztony Temesv\u00e1r utca 10).<\/p>\n

In May, life returns to our garden. As dusk approaches, the hedgerows come alive and the song of one of our most beautifully singing birds, the nightingale, fills the air.<\/p>\n

5:30\u20136:00 PM \u2013 Arrival<\/p>\n

6:00 PM \u2013 Bird ringing demonstration<\/p>\n

Following the bird ringing demonstration, Dr. M\u00e1t\u00e9 Havasi will give a presentation on the ecological and human aspects of light pollution (the presentation will be held in Hungarian).<\/p>\n

After the presentation, the evening will conclude with listening to nocturnal birdsong and a guided garden walk exploring the sounds of the night in the foundation\u2019s nearly four-hectare garden, maintained according to ecological principles.<\/p>\n

The programme is organized within the framework of the Interreg Slovenia\u2013Hungary KeepItDark project, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting dark, light-pollution-free skies, as well as preserving nocturnal wildlife and the natural nighttime environment.<\/p>\n

The programme is free of charge and open to everybody.<\/p>\n<\/div>
