On May 22, 2026, the official opening of the traveling exhibition titled \u201cLight at the Border \u2013 In the Footsteps of the Martyrs J\u00e1nos Brenner and Danijel Halas\u201d took place at the Danijel Halas Home in Velika Polana. The exhibition was created as part of the Interreg Messages project.<\/p>\n

The attendees were first welcomed by Metka Sabo Geren\u010der, professional coordinator and staff member of the Municipal Administration of the Municipality of Lendava, and Tadeja Pitz Prasl, professional director of the Danijel Halas Home, which operates under the auspices of the Karion Institute.<\/p>\n

The event was enriched by a performance from the residents\u2019 choir, which presented three songs. This was followed by a conversation with one of the home\u2019s residents, Veronika Kelenc, who shared her memories of the time when the martyr Danijel Halas was still alive. The interview, presented as a moving testimony, was conducted by the home\u2019s animator, Sa\u0161a Kuzma Strnad.<\/p>\n

The audience was then addressed by Janez Magyar, Mayor of the Municipality of Lendava, who officially opened the traveling exhibition following a presentation of the project. Bence S\u00e1rossy, Director of MURABA EGTC, guided visitors through five thematic sections which, with the help of interactive tasks, present the life and work of the martyr, Blessed J\u00e1nos Brenner, and the Servant of God Danijel Halas.<\/p>\n

The main goal of the project is to use the pilgrimage and the traveling exhibition to make the example set by these two outstanding figures visible to younger generations, while also strengthening the cultural and tourist network between the Prekmurje and R\u00e1ba-vid\u00e9k regions.<\/p>\n

The exhibition remained open to visitors until May 31, 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>
