The draft version of the Interreg programme Slovenia-Hungary for 2021-2027 period is now ready, together with the Appendix I, for you to check and comment on. It is the result of more than 20 months of discussions and consultations among two partner countries and presents the overall strategy and main features of the future programme.

The document is based on the conclusions of the key stakeholders` consultation process, on the Policy Objectives and Specific Objectives selected for financing for the post-2020 period, correlated with the territorial analysis of the Programme area, the European Commission recommendations from the Cross-Border Orientation Paper, as well as the conclusions from the meetings of the Programminf Task Force.

Through the future Interreg programme Slovenia-Hungary 2021-2027, the following 3 Policy Objectives will be financed:

  • A greener, low-carbon Europe by enhancing protection and preservation of the nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas and reducing all forms of pollution.
  • A more social Europe enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation
  • A better cooperation governance (an Interreg Specific Objective) by enhancing efficient public administration by promoting legal and administrative cooperation and cooperation between citizens, civil society actors and institutions, in particular with a view to resolving legal and other obstacles in border regions and by building up mutual trust, in particular by encouraging people-to-people actions.
