On 22 June 2026, the official blessing of the “Light at the Border” pilgrimage route will take place at the All Saints Parish Church in Rábakethely. The route was established with the support of the Interreg Slovenia–Hungary Programme and connects the memorial sites of Blessed János Brenner and Servant of God Danijel Halas, highlighting the shared Christian and cultural heritage of the border region.

The pilgrimage route will be blessed by Bishop János Székely of the Diocese of Szombathely and Bishop Janez Kozinc of the Diocese of Murska Sobota. The event will also include a bilingual Hungarian–Slovene Holy Mass, reflecting the spirit of cross-border cooperation, friendship and unity.

On the day following the blessing, the first official pilgrimage along the route will set out under the organisation of Muraba EGTC. The initiative creates new opportunities for spiritual tourism, pilgrimage experiences and stronger connections between communities living on both sides of the border.
