On 17 June 2026, the travelling exhibition Light at the Border – In the Footsteps of the Martyrs János Brenner and Dániel Halász opened at the Theatre and Concert Hall in Lendava. The exhibition was created as part of the Interreg Messages project.
The event began at 5:00 p.m. The attendees were first welcomed by Metka Sabo Gerenčer, Professional Coordinator and member of the Municipal Administration of the Municipality of Lendava.
The audience was then addressed by Janez Magyar, Mayor of the Municipality of Lendava, who officially opened the travelling exhibition in Lendava following the presentation of the project.
The exhibition was subsequently presented by Dr Judit Zágorec-Csuka, Director of the Lendava Library and Cultural Centre.
The main goal of the project is to bring the exemplary lives of the martyrs János Brenner and Danijel Halas closer to younger generations through the pilgrimage route and the travelling exhibition, while at the same time strengthening the cultural and tourism network between Prekmurje and the Rába Valley.
The exhibition remained open to visitors until 29 June 2026.
