On Friday, October 17, 2025, the 2nd workshop within the CONNECT project entitled “RITMUSMŰVES” was held in Győrvár, Hungary. The workshop was conducted by a project partner from Hungary. Among the Hungarian participants, 20 participants from Slovenia (children and adults) were also present at the event, including members of the Stella Institute, Beltinci, the lead partner of the project.
The event began at half past eight with the signing of the attendance list, introductory greetings, and a presentation of the project and both project partners. Next, the participants witnessed an interactive percussion demonstration, where the performer introduced various percussion instruments, played them, and then invited the participants to try playing them themselves. The participants were enthusiastic about this. Then, the performer formed a musical group from the group of participants, gave them instructions, and they played a few melodies together.
This was followed by a presentation of folk dances and a presentation of the national costumes worn by the dancers. After the presentation, the dancers invited the participants to the dance floor and taught them a few dance steps. At the end, there was a joint dance, where the participants mingled and danced. Interpretation into Slovenian was provided, but almost unnecessary, since the dance is universal for all nations and does not require special translation.
In the last part of the event, the participants made calming pads. They drew any motifs they wanted on a small, already sewn bag, filled the bag with rice, and finally the seamstress sewed them all the way through.
During the workshop, participants were offered hot drinks (coffee and tea), juice and pastries, and while enjoying the delicacies, they were able to socialize and chat. Since the participants were from different countries, they communicated in English or with the help of an interpreter. After lunch, the participants said their goodbyes.
