On April 1, 2026, a ceremonial exhibition opening took place in Zalaegerszeg, in the building of the Mindszentyneum. The travelling exhibition entitled “Light at the border – In the footsteps of martyrs János Brenner and Danijel Halas” was created within the framework of the Messages project and is open to visitors until April 12.
At the opening event, the director of MURABA ETT, Bence Sárossy welcomed the participants, highlighting the importance of cross-border cooperation and shared cultural and historical heritage. This was followed by a panel discussion with Ágota Csengei, director of the Mindszentyneum, and actor Attila Bellus, who shared his thoughts in connection with the film “Legyetek szeretettel” about the life of János Brenner.
The exhibition was officially opened by Father Péter Déri, who emphasized the importance of faith, sacrifice and remembrance in his speech. The exhibition presents the life stories of János Brenner and Danijel Halas, with special attention to making their stories accessible and engaging for younger generations.
The Zalaegerszeg stop of the exhibition also contributes to strengthening shared values and connections between regions within the framework of the Messages project.
