At the 5th Monitoring Committee meeting of the Interreg Programme Slovenia-Hungary, held on 11-12 February 2025 in Maribor, Slovenia five (5) new small-scale projects were successfully approved for co-financing in a total amount of € 93.500,00 in ERDF funding.
Under the Open call for proposals for small-scale projects in the Interreg Programme Slovenia–Hungary for the programming period 2021–2027, 11 applications were submitted for the second deadline, in September 2024. Following the assessment of the applications received, the projects with the acronyms Vse je v naših bučah, Herba Fest, CONNECT, Neighborhood and REGIOTASTE were selected for approval by the Monitoring Committee of the Programme. The approved small-scale projects involve 5 Slovenian and 5 Hungarian project partners.
At the end of the first day of the two-day meeting, the Monitoring Committee members visited one of the successful projects of the 2014-2020 programming period. The project HORSE BASED TOURISM – HBT (World of Horses – a new dimension of sustainable development for a cross-border quality experience of natural and cultural treasures) created an attractive cross-border tourist destination, recognisable by the quality of innovative programmes of diverse equestrian experiences, through which visitors discover the natural and cultural heritage of the cross-border region. The HBT concept represents a new niche in tourism with great potential for development, as it offers attractive, safe and interesting activities suitable for a wide range of groups of tourists who, due to their specific requirements and needs, have not been able to actively participate in classic equestrian tourism. These target groups of tourists include children, families, people with special needs and mental health problems, medium-sized closed groups that require “incentive” (incentive tourism is a trip designed to motivate, incentivize, and reward employees or business associates) and “team building” tourism.
Congratulations to all partners of the selected projects!
