Keep Young and Fit project is moving forward with the implementation of project events, of which fortunately there is no shortage. The project aims to develop an action plan to tackle the causes of poor physical status of young people and to complement the existing youth health prevention systems in the programme area in order to make them more effective.
In order to reach as many people as possible, the project also uses the opportunities offered by TV, so Zalaegerszeg Television and Televizija AS, Murska Sobota have set up a joint editorial board to coordinate cross-border TV programming. The first broadcasts started in 2024 spring and by the end of the year in total 24 episodes were dedicated to the project.
The project is not short of exciting events. First a cross-border conference took place in Murska Sobota on 13 June 2024 on “How to improve the health of young people”. Here a draft strategy was presented including professional and concrete solutions to the health problems of young people.
In order to further familiarise students with healthy lifestyle and it’s different aspects, the project organised various events: a Health Day in the Kapela Primary School on 10. October 2024, a hiking tour for pupils and parents in the Gornja Radgona area on 12. October 2024 and a Sport Festival for the pupils of the Lenti Primary School and High School on 5. Dezember 2024. The events encouraged children not only to move and play sports, but also to have fun.
The project includes also measurements of physical status of pupils as well as various sports demonstrations, lectures on healthy lifestyle and food etc. so they can learn and try how to live in an active and healthy way.
