On 7 April 2026, the Development Centre Murska Sobota organized two creative workshops at Primary School I Murska Sobota for third-grade pupils, involving 60 children, as part of thematic stakeholder training. The workshops aimed to raise awareness about the importance of wild pollinators and biodiversity conservation through interactive, hands-on activities.
Children created pollinator mobiles from recycled paper using collage techniques. Each contribution was displayed in the classrooms, serving as a lasting visual reminder of pollinators’ role in the ecosystem. The workshops encouraged collaboration, creativity, and self-expression while introducing pupils to environmental topics in an engaging, practical way.
The activity thus encouraged collaboration, creativity, and independent expression, while introducing children to environmental topics in a way that goes beyond traditional learning. The workshops also contribute to the project’s long-term goals: mitigating pollinator decline, promoting sustainable practices, and strengthening ecological awareness locally and cross-border.
The result is a multifaceted impact: pupils gained knowledge about pollinators, developed practical skills, and created a lasting reminder of biodiversity’s importance in their school environment.
