On 15 May 2026, the workshop entitled “The tourist appeal of the slovenian ethnic minority collection of the Pável Ágoston Museum and its connections with educational institutions and slovenian minority self-governments” was held at the museum. The programme was based on the Interreg project application submitted in consortium under the title “GUČIMO: Preservation and promotion of the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Muravidék and Rábavidék regions”.
During the first part of the day, the project partners presented their activities. Julija Lazar (the lead applicant), Bugán Lilla on behalf of the Association of Slovenes in Hungary, and Mrs. Tiborné Horváth representing the Móra Ferenc Municipal Library and Museum outlined the details of the project application. This was followed by a moderated discussion during which the invited participants spoke about their roles and opportunities within the process. The following speakers contributed to the discussion:
- Mrs. Mária Kozár Mukicsné, who served as the museum’s professional director for 30 years,
- Mrs. Ildikó Doncsecz Treiberné, headmistress of the Kossics József Bilingual Primary School and at the same time president of the Slovenian Minority Self-Government of Alsószölnök,
- Ibolya Neubauer, head of the Kühár Memorial House,

- Mrs. Inez Németh-Szita, president of the Slovenian Minority Self-Government of Rönök,
- Mrs. Nikoletta Vajda-Nagy, editor-in-chief of the Porabje newspaper.
Following the coffee break, participants completed a questionnaire through which, among other things, we sought to identify the workshop themes that those present would most like to see in the future.
As the penultimate event of the thematic programme, participants were given a guided tour of the museum exhibitions led by Mrs. Margit Mayer Gáspárné.
The informative and enriching day concluded with a shared lunch, which the participants enjoyed at the restaurant of the Szentgotthárd Spa and Wellness Centre.
The event successfully contributed to strengthening professional dialogue. The participants involved in the moderated discussion assured us of their full cooperation in support of the implementation of the project.
