On 7 May 2026, at the Sv. Jakab Church in Dobrovnik hosted the ceremonial opening of the traveling exhibition entitled “Light at the Border – In the Footsteps of the Martyrs János Brenner and Danijel Halas,” created within the framework of the Interreg project Messages.

At the beginning, those present were welcomed by Metka Sabo Gerenčer, expert coordinator and associate of the Municipal Administration of the Municipality of Lendava, who moderated a discussion with Lojze Kozar Jr., General Vicar of the Diocese of Murska Sobota and parish priest of Odranci. They spoke about the parallels connecting the lives of Blessed János Brenner and Danijel Halas, especially their influence on young believers.

The attendees were then greeted by Janez Magyar, Mayor of the Municipality of Lendava, who officially opened the traveling exhibition after presenting the project. Bence Sárossy, Director of MURABA EGTC, guided visitors through five thematic sections which, with the help of interactive tasks, present the life and work of the martyr, Blessed János Brenner, and the Servant of God Danijel Halas. The event concluded with Holy Mass celebrated by parish priest Mgr. Simon Štihec.

The main goal of the project is to use the pilgrimage and the traveling exhibition to make the example set by these two outstanding figures visible to younger generations, while also strengthening the cultural and tourist network between the Prekmurje and Rába-vidék regions.

The exhibition will be on view until May 16, 2026 during church hours.
