On 18 November 2025, a professional workshop of the project CROSSDEST – Strengthening the cross-border tourism role of local producers in the Slovenian-Hungarian border region, organised by the Pannonian European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation, took place in Lendava, at the site of the Banuta Model Farm.

The aim of the event was to bring together local producers, tourism service providers and key players in the region and to present through practical examples how local products can become an integral part of the cross-border tourism offer. Within the framework of the program, several exhibitors introduced themselves, who contributed to the success of the event with their high-quality local products.

The participants also had the opportunity to get to know the operation of the Prekmurska Vzorčna Kmetia Model Farm in person and to gain first-hand experience of the practical issues of cross-border market access. As a result of the visit and the presentations, a lively and constructive dialogue developed about the conditions under which producers can appear on the markets of the neighbouring country, and how the visibility and role of local products in tourism services can be strengthened.

During the discussions, specific challenges and opportunities also surfaced, from logistics solutions and cooperation models to the issue of joint marketing and tourism integration. The workshop clearly confirmed that cross-border cooperation plays a key role in the economic and tourism development of the region.

We would like to thank all the speakers, exhibitors and participants for their active participation and valuable contribution. The event contributed to the further strengthening of relations between local producers and tourism operators in the Slovenian-Hungarian border region.
