As part of the KeepItDark project, the partnership is inviting you to the Open Days of the Surviving with Bats exhibition in Kančevci. The exhibition is open every Saturday in July and August, as well as on 5 September, from 10:00 to 17:00. Admission and guided tours are free of charge.

This is Slovenia’s first permanent exhibition dedicated to bats, presenting the lives of these remarkable nocturnal mammals through a modern and interactive experience. Suitable for visitors of all ages, it features photographs, models, illustrations and interactive displays. One of its highlights is a live video feed from a bat roost.

The exhibition is located in the former school building in Kančevci 37, Slovenia, home to an important lesser horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus hipposideros) roost. It is closely linked to the KeepItDark project, which raises awareness about reducing light pollution and preserving naturally dark night skies – essential for the survival of bats and many other nocturnal species.
