The »RegioStars 2015« competition

The European Commission issued the RegioStars 2015 competition – the eighth annual awards – for the most innovative regional development projects co-funded by the EU’s Structural Funds, which will be awarded on 13 October 2015 during the Week of European Regions and Cities (OPEN DAYS) in Brussels. The Award Categories for 2015 are: *Smart Growth: Unleashing SME growth potential for a digital economy *Sustainable Growth: Mobilizing investments in energy efficiency for the benefit of citizens and society *Inclusive Growth: Integrating in society those at risk of social exclusion *CityStar: Transforming cities for future challenges. For the 2015 awards, the selected finalists will be invited to attend the RegioStars 2015 Awards Ceremony which will take place in October 2015 in the frame of the OPEN DAYS. The Managing Authority’s deadline for sending in the most innovative projects to the European Commission is 28 February 2015. Reminder: Public consultation on the draft Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A SI-HU 2014-2020

The Cross-border Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Hungary 2014-2020 is being prepared by the representatives of both Member States (Task Force) considering the national/regional needs of both Member States in the cross-border programme area. The main parts of the programme’s content have already been defined in line with the rules and principles of the governing European Regulations. We hereby give all interested parties the opportunity to comment on the draft Cooperation Programme by filling in the provided form by 30 January 2015 at the latest. Please send all responses (using the form) to the following e-mail address: jts-si-hu.svlr@gov.si. The comments received in frame of the consultation procedure will be used (if appropriate) in final preparation of the Draft Cooperation Programme document before its submission to the European Commission for approval.

“Rural Tourism Day” in frame of the European Cooperation Day 2014

The European Cooperation Day, organized under the auspices of the European Commission and the INTERACT programme, is celebrated throughout Europe. In the frame of the event the cross-border cooperation programmes were presented, joined under the slogan “Sharing borders, growing closer”.The Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Development and European Cohesion Policy (GODC), acting as the Managing Authority for the cross-border cooperation Slovenia-Hungary in the programme period 2007-2013, organized a Rural Tourism Day in Magyarszerdahely, Hungary. The participants from Slovenia and Hungary visited the village Magyarszerdahely, where the GODC in cooperation with the partners of the projects 5 Postakocsi and AC 2 organized an all day cultural, sport and culinary program. The participants could take part in „Peasant-Olympics”, handicraft demonstration, sightseeing on wain, photo-safari and traditional lunch accompanied by gypsy music. Photo gallery

The European Cooperation Day is organised every year all around the European Union. In the framework of the Operational Programme Slovenia-Hungary 2007-2013, we are celebrating this event on 20th September 2014. In cooperation with the project partners of the projects 5 Postakocsi and Kézműves Akadémia 2, all day cultural, sport and culinary programs are organised. “Europe in My Region” photo competition launched

Already for the third time, the European Commission (DG REGIO) launched the photo competition Europe in My Region that aims to highlight the excellent work that projects across Europe are doing with the help of EU funding, and explore what these projects mean to local communities. To take part, all you have to do is upload photos of a project clearly showing the billboard or plaque or poster, with the EU flag somewhere in the picture, showing that it has received EU funding. Then share your photos for a chance to win 1.000 EUR to spend on digital camera equipment and a trip for two to Brussels in October 2014. The deadline for submitting your entry is 25 August 2014. INTERACT launched a video competition

Since 2012, the INTERACT programme has been coordinating a Europe-wide campaign called European Cooperation Day with the aim of highlighting results of European Territorial Cooperation and neighbouring programmes and projects. Each year, the campaign is celebrated on 21 September and its surrounding days. The target group of this initiative is the general public. More information can be found on the campaign website of the EC DAY The European Cooperation Day will be celebrated again on 21 September 2014. On this occasion, INTERACT launched a video contest among European projects, programmes, and individual film-makers to share their videos highlighting the results and benefits of cooperation in Europe. The theme for the video competition is ‘border issues, border solutions’. The videos should relate to programme or projects financed in the programming period 2007-2013 and should not exceed the maximum length of 3 minutes. They may be professional or amateur and have to be submitted until 15 July 2014. Information on the formation of a new government office

We would like to inform you that a new Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Development and European Cohesion Policy (GODC) was established on 1 March 2014. More information about the new government office is available on the website of the GODC In the framework of the Office for European Territorial Cooperation and Financial Mechanisms, the GODC by that date took over the role of Managing Authority for the Operational Programme of cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Austria in the programming period 2007-2013.
