On 16 July 2026, the Hegypásztor Cellars in Oszkó hosted the professional event entitled “Past in Our Hands, Future in Our Forms”. Organised within the framework of the C4F-ELEVATE project, the event focused on the relationship between craftsmanship and sustainable tourism, as well as tourism initiatives in the Slovenian–Hungarian border region. It brought together Hungarian and Slovenian tourism professionals, project representatives, local development actors and representatives of community initiatives.
The professional event also provided an opportunity to present RE-ACTION – Developing Rural Tourism in the Slovenian–Hungarian Border Region. Barna Kovács, Project Manager at the Vas County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, introduced the project’s structure, objectives, activities and progress achieved so far.
The event also offered opportunities to establish new professional contacts and strengthen dialogue between the participating projects.
One of the key conclusions of the professional event was that craftsmanship, local stories, gastronomic traditions and community initiatives can be transformed into authentic tourism experiences through effective cooperation.
This approach is closely aligned with the objectives of RE-ACTION, which aims to contribute to the development of a more visible, coordinated and sustainable Slovenian–Hungarian tourism region.
