Cross-border celebration connects Slovenia and Hungary: successful Interreg Cooperation Day 2025
Prosenjakovci/Velemér/Magyarszombatfa, 20 September 2025 – A lively celebration of culture, tradition and networking took place on Saturday along the Slovenian-Hungarian border. The Interreg Cooperation Day 2025, which celebrated the power of European cross-border cooperation for the fourteenth consecutive year, brought together hundreds of visitors from both countries.
European Commission Launches Call for Proposals to Establish Cross-Border Coordination Points
The European Commission has published a new call for proposals under the BRIDGEforEU Regulation (EU 2025/925), adopted on 7 May 2025. The call, launched in mid-August, aims to establish Cross-Border Coordination Points to address legal and administrative barriers in border regions.
Interreg Slovenia-Hungary at the MOS 2025 Fair – A joint response of Slovenia and Hungary to the deterioration of young people’s dietary and physical activity habits
At the MOS fair in Celje, Friday's program at the exhibition space of the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development (MKRR) was marked by cross-border cooperation. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the concrete results of Interreg programs and experience how cross-border projects contribute to the development of the region and the creation of new opportunities.

From Mill to Mill: Preserving the technical heritage of Slovenia and Hungary
Mills represent an important cultural and technical heritage that has been using alternative energy sources and sustainability principles in its activities since before recent times. The project partners of the From Mill to Mill project have therefore prepared a series of activities in the frame of the project to add new programming and marketing content to the abandoned and disappearing mills, which will be interesting in the changing space of rural Europe.

REGIOTASTE is a vibrant cross-border initiative bringing together Slovenian and Hungarian schools, local culinary masters, home chefs, and heritage organisations to rediscover, safeguard and celebrate the nearly forgotten gastronomic traditions of the border region.

On October 15, 2025, the Pomurje Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Zala County, held the second Career Festival event as part of a small-scale project entitled SMARAGDITE.
New Steps Toward Sustainable Tourism – Milestones in the CROSSDEST Project
The CROSSDEST Interreg project aims to help destinations in the region achieve internationally recognized sustainability certifications, while local service providers and attractions also advance toward greener and more accessible tourism.

The settlements of Viszák in Őrség and Petišovci in the Mura region have maintained good relations for years, but in the summer of 2025, the relationship between the Viszák Veterans Club and the Tourism and Environmental Protection Association of Petišovci reached a new level.
