The cooperation level of the chambers, economic development organizations, agencies concerned in regional economy development at the Slovenian-Hungarian border area is not satisfactory. Among other things, its consequence is that the number of cooperative economic operators both in trade flow, in industrial and in agricultural activities is low. It would be necessary to exploit the opportunities in both countries, to expand the existing contacts, especially among SMEs. According to our experiences, both country search cooperation possibilities in other directions, although there are a lot of similarities in the economy of the two countries, and they encounter with the same obstacles and difficulties.  To overcome these barriers is an institutional task, which can be satisfied by a higher level of cooperation of the institutions in the border area. Our aim is to connect the experience, knowledge and existing best practices of these organizations, to integrate them into a harmonized system which we support with a professional, expert mentor programme, thus assisting the economic cooperation and the exploitation of the advantages of neighbourhood. The implementation will have a result that will make our region the centre of European economic renewal. Within the framework of the project we renew and expand the institutional relations concerned in economic development, we assess its capacity and we try to clarify the needs of economic operators. Since they are the building stones of the economy development, there is a need for information and supporting background to fulfil their function. We support this by the establishment of a common, innovative, Slovenian-Hungarian language regional development platform; to which we implement the needed knowledge extension. We provide the durability of the cooperation with the establishment of an info point and a knowledge centre network.
