On Friday, 3 March 2023, the Open Call for Standard Projects was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia and on the programme website of the cross-border cooperation programme Interreg Slovenia-Hungary for the period 2021-2027.

The Open Call is intended for the co-funding of cross-border cooperation projects between Slovenia and Hungary in the programme period 2021-2027, which effectively contribute to the general objective of the programme, which is to to contribute to an active and cooperating border/programme region aware of its environmental, natural and cultural values, through promoting sustainable utilisation, preservation and exploitation for tourism purposes, setting up a well identifiable and attractive green tourism destination.

11,7 million EUR of funds from the ERDF are available for co-financing projects. The Programme operates on the basis of the Open Call system. This means that applicants can submit project applications continuously after the Open Call is launched as long as funds are available.

Applications received in the frame of the respective deadline before each Monitoring Committee Meeting and fulfilling all requirements will be subject to Monitoring Committee decision. The first deadline for the submission of applications is 8 May 2023 (at 12 noon).

In the frame of the call, the programme supports standard projects within the following three priorities and the corresponding specific objectives:

  • Priority 1: Green border region
    • Specific objective 1: Enhancing protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution
  • Priority 2: Inclusive border region based on sustainable tourism
    • Specific objective 1: Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation
  • Priority 3: Cooperating border region
    • Specific objective 1: A better cooperation governance

 

The minimum requirement of the call is that the partnership has at least one project partner from Slovenia and one from Hungary or an EGTC (European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation), consisting of members from both member states and registered in one of the participating countries.

Project applications can be submitted at any time between the start date and the end date of the open call for proposals, or as long as funds are available. Project applications are submitted using the common electronic monitoring system (Jems).
