Brussels, October 27, 2022. The Right Profession project together with the Interreg Slovenia-Hungary program is celebrating an important achievement. As part of the Project Slam 2022 competition, it received a special award from the European Commission with a very impressive stage performance.
Every year, the European Commission, in cooperation with the Interact program, announces the Project SLAM competition, which aims to present the achievements of Interreg Programs and projects to the general public. This year, the focus was on projects that address young people and contribute to the European Year of Youth 2022.
The Interreg V-A Slovenia-Hungary cross-border cooperation programme, whose Managing Authority is the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, participated in the competition together with the co-financed project Right Profession. With the presentation of how to help young people choose the right profession through personal experience and thus enable young people to choose a profession offered by the region, we were ranked among the six finalists at the beginning of July. The final selection took place today in Brussels at Interreg’s annual event, where we received a special award from the European Commission.
The Right profession project is the result of the cooperation of nine project partners, five from Slovenia and four from Hungary. It is a sequence of three projects (Right Profession I, Right Profession II and Dual Transfer) implemented in two program periods and co-financed from the Interreg Slovenia-Hungary cross-border program with a total value of approximately EUR 1.335 million of ERDF funds. It solved the cross-border challenge of improving cooperation between institutions, which enabled a better handling of challenges on the labor market in terms of better coordination between the offer of professions and demand on the labor market. The general goal of the project was to contribute to the reduction of personnel disparities in the labor market and to increase the possibility for employment and to increase the mutual cooperation of educational institutions in the cross-border area.
